Analysis
Google Search Console
Connect Google Search Console and the Search Console page shows what people typed into Google before they came to your site: the queries, the pages Google showed, clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position.
Connect
- Open Traffic → Search Console in the dashboard (workspace admins only).
- Click Connect Search Console and sign in with the Google account that has access to the site in Search Console.
- Allow Vitrus to view your Search Console data, and to see the account's email address (so the page can say which account is connected). Nothing else is asked for — Vitrus cannot change anything in Search Console.
Vitrus then picks the property for your site's domain — a Domain property
(sc-domain:example.com) first, then https://example.com/ or
https://www.example.com/. If none or several could be meant, it asks you to choose rather than guess.
Whose numbers these are
Every other number in Vitrus is computed by a query you can read and re-run. These are not: Google computes them. So the evidence behind each one is the exact request Vitrus sent to the Search Console API and the rows Google answered with — as far as proof goes for a number measured somewhere else. They are shown on their own page and never mixed into Vitrus's own metrics.
- Delay. Search Console data arrives two to three days late; the page says where Google's data for the range ends.
- Refresh. Fetched at most once an hour per site and range — the data changes about once a day.
- Different counting. A Google click is not a Vitrus visit: blocked scripts, bots and redirects make the two differ, and neither is wrong.
Disconnect
Disconnect on the same page deletes the stored access and revokes it at Google. The access is stored encrypted and belongs to the site, so it keeps working if the person who connected it leaves the workspace.
API
GET /api/gsc?site=&days= returns the same report, with Google's request and answer
for each part. It accepts an API key.
